Typing Sprint has no backend, no user accounts and no database. There is nowhere for us to send your data, because there is no server-side application to send it to — the site is a set of static files. We do not collect, sell, rent or share personal data, and we do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

What is stored in your browser

Typing Sprint writes four items to your browser's localStorage, on your own device. Nothing here leaves your browser:

• typing-sprint.settings.v1 — your chosen test mode (15s, 30s, 60s or 50 words), your word source (common English, quotes or code), and whether the punctuation and numbers toggles are on.
• typing-sprint.history.v1 — your last 20 results. Each entry holds a timestamp, the mode and word source, the number of words completed, gross WPM, net WPM, accuracy and consistency. The text you actually typed is never stored.
• typing-sprint.bests.v1 — your personal best net WPM for each combination of mode and word source, with the accuracy and timestamp of that run.
• typing-sprint.today.v1 — your best net WPM for the current day. The day is evaluated in the America/New_York time zone, so this value resets at midnight Eastern time rather than at UTC midnight.

Clearing your browser's site data, or pressing the Clear saved data button on the typing test, removes all four items permanently. There is no copy anywhere else.

What is not stored

• The characters you type during a test. They exist in memory during the run and are discarded when you restart or leave the page.
• Your name, email address, phone number or any other identifier. We never ask for one.
• Any cookie. Typing Sprint sets no cookies of its own.

Service worker and offline use

On your first visit, a service worker caches the page, its stylesheet, its script and its icon so the test keeps working without a network connection. This cache holds only those public static files — no personal information — and is removed when you clear your browser's site data.

Aggregate performance monitoring

Where the hosting environment has it enabled, this page loads Tencent Cloud RUM (Real User Monitoring) to report anonymous, aggregate performance and error data: page load timings, JavaScript errors, and a coarse traffic-channel label derived from your referrer and any utm_ query parameters (for example “search”, “social”, “ai” or “direct”). This is used to understand how people find the page. It does not receive the text you type, your results, or any identifier you have given us, because you have not given us one. If monitoring is not configured, or the SDK fails to load, the test works exactly the same.

Children

Typing Sprint is a typing drill suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above changes with it. Typing Sprint was generated and deployed with Quodara; questions about the build can go through the project write-up.
